Tryphena is a one-off boat as her layout was carefully designed to accomodate a disabled crew member. She has a generous, relatively shallow cockpit, with added security in the form of a stainless steel fence, which normally carries full length canvas spray dodgers.
The timber deck is uncluttered with plenty of room each side of the companionway . It is guarded by taffrails which could easily be netted as originally intended. Where there is no rail at the bow there is a well deck and convenient hand holds instead.
The companionway steps are deep and easy, as it was necessary that they could be climbed on hands and knees. Surprisingly, at this point there is standing head room.
Equipment:-
Tryphena is offered for sale as a result of changing circumstances. Whilst much of her equipment is in nearly new condition there are one or two things to attend to, e.g. engine service and sails. Since her mast has been moved and spars altered to make her a gaffer, she has yet to be fitted with new or remodelled sails. A potential owner may wish to discuss this point in relation to her asking price but ultimately I feel they should have the opportunity at this stage of arranging things as they would wish. SKB sails in Penryn who made her original sails can be recommended.
5 yr. old ‘Tryphena’ is presently laid up at the far end of Gaffers and Luggers old yard.
